part 32, 2013

Woke up and realized it was our last day on our holiday... Time to present all the cactai in our courtyard. So this is the tiny round one.

...The furry one...

...The one that looked like an autumn stew...

...The traditional one...

...And the most painful one! Walked into it by mistake three times and MAN it hurt! It had little tiny dagger-fur attacking a big area of skin if you touched it. Evil!

We got (un)dressed...

...To enjoy the last of the sun and the beach.

...We had an amazing last meal by the beach. With loads of streetcats as company.

Then we walked around in the town for the last time.

...And it was time to say goodbye :'(

A poet from Lindos named Manoli Lampis wrote:

And beautiful Lindos
Your scents can be felt from far away

And when the stranger first sees you
He is lost for words
You are something he tries
To take back with him.

Holding his hand
He uses his camera
And shots he takes non-stop
So he can have in life

No matter how much
a poet writes about you
is never enough
Many are those who cried
After seeing you when having to go away.

Almost the last day, and we decided to go on a boat for a couple of hours.

can you spot the goats?

My heart had fallen in love in Greece

The dog. She loved the boat life. And goats.

we stoppped for a swim in the ocean. The water was sparkling in its beautiful colour.

goat-spotting

100% relaxing.

And then we came back to Lindos again...

...And watched the sun go down.

part 30, 2013

Next day it was time for excursion.

Our first stop was a ceramic studio.

It was the 'Savvas' family who owned it and every single piece was handmade by the whole family. I wanted to buy everything,

...Along the road...

Next stop was a big church. So beautiful inside. We met some lovely people who were very happy to help us find a olive oil factory...

She wrote us a map and her name, as she knew the owner.

... we came to a tiny little village.

This is Mr. Olive man. He walked us through the factory and talked about olives as it was his only true love :) As we wrote down the name of his friend, working at the monestry, she gave us a free olive soap. Amazing people :)

we had a walk in the village, very happy after all the succesful meetings.

then we drove back to Lindos and walked up the hill, half way up to the acropolis...

...and had some pizza slices for dinner with an amazing view over the town.

a heaven for 'parkour' practicers...

Ice cream for dessert and then a couple of beers and Uno until the sun went down.

part 29, 2013

Next day it was time for a trip to Rhodes town! On the way there we saw approximately 67 different fur-shops. Something you might thought you would see in Russia or north of Sweden but no, even the greeks get cold, and they gotta have real fur...

Also there were a lot of memory tombs along the roads. Probably from people that had died in the traffic. Makes it so more visible how dangerous traffic can be.

...some more fancy than others...

...And thousands of thousands of half built, empty houses everywhere, reminding us of the economic crisis they're still in. So sad.

then we reached Rhodes town.

a hard working man on top of a house.

A street cat in Rhodes is far more dangerous than the ones in Lindos i experienced :(

The wall of chewing gum (don't ask me why?!)

We walked and walked and saw some amazing things. Rhodes town is very beautiful but very touristy.

(my favourite shop!)

..And the worlds sweetest puppy. We became best friends. And then we had to leave :(

On our way to find the restaurant we'd been adviced on, from the restaurant owner in Lindos, we saw this massive appartment block.

oh wait, it was a boat!

A massive boat!

we finally found the place after some guidance...

As the menu was in greek (and neither of us are so great in the greek alphabet...) they took us back in the kitchen and we just pointed at what we wanted. Very simple, cheap and lovely restaurant!

part 28, 2013

The next day we walked up the hill of the town to see the massive acropolis.

it was massive and It must have been a big safety having the fort to hide in when the ottoman empire was to attack.

<3

some streetkittens finally got some water from the tourists...

inside the acropolis the only thing growing was this one olive tree.

On the way down (or up) you could choose to go on a donkeys back.

But the donkeys eyes are always so sleepy and sad, we didn't wanna feel guilty and our legs are young, so we walked.

And after that we did the usual (went to beach, lied in the sun and had a crepes) and then it was time to dress up.

:)

when the sun went down we went to a restaurant.

with amazing views. (lindos didn't seem to have any restaurant without amazing views :) As we decided that tomorrow we're driving to Rhodes town we took the advantage of asking the restaurant owner for some tips...

On our way back after an amazing meal and some great wine we met up with this little fella, Mr/Ms Tortoises.

...And an amazing staircase leading down to the beach.

part 27, 2013

Next day we went on excursion in the little town..

We found this cute donkey resting underneath an olive tree.

And thousands of streetcats wandering the streets. Many of them only had one eye, half an ear or limping :(

The floor was often done in this traditional way with smooth oval stones in black and white in amazing patterns.

Many cars had dreamcatchers or evil eyes in the front, scaring evil spirits away.

Then we went down to the beach.

and rested in the sun. <3

taking a dip into the turqoise water

and then back for some kisses :)

in the evening we went to a very cosy restaurant, again with an amazing setting.

us.

part 26, 2013

This is the place where me and P were gonna spend the next nine days in, lovely Lindos in Greece.

Our little appartment was simple and small, nothing fancy but with all necessities and a classic donkey picture offcourse.

The courtyard where we had all our breakfasts (fresh youghurt, grapes, honey and musli)

And the ocean! (and me haha..) I've never ever seen ocean this turqoise and see through. Completely magical. And the beautiful acropolis on top of the mountain. This was a dream but I was awake.

In the evening we went to this roof top restaurant. Amazing view!

with amazing company <3

We had a walk along 'st pauls bay' and the moon showed the ocean in a light I've never seen it in before.

we got home, sat in the courtyard and looked at the stars and the dog sleeping in the stairs, magical.
